Surf Tweakers

Have you ever experienced a slow paddling board, a bouncy feel on the wave, commonly known as the cork effect, or lack of speed/drive, like the board just won’t go or drop down the wave face?  These are all characteristics of a board that’s too light.

The Tweakers system is the world’s first fully modular weighting and balancing system for surfboards, Tow-in, SUP’s, Kite-boards etc.  This system gives you a fully tune-able board that can be adjusted at any time for any reason.

The Tweakers system allows you to fully tune or Tweak your surfboard’s weight and balance.  The plug and dummy come installed from the manufacture and add almost no additional weight, while the weights have the capabilities of adding up to half a pound  per plug or more for Tow-in.

Specifically, you can adjust your board at any time to fit current conditions, wave height, wave strength, wind conditions and surface conditions.  Imagine adjusting weight forward in your board for offshore conditions or adjusting weight to the tail for increased fin hold in turns or barrels.  Or adding overall weight for increased speed and drive.

The possibilities are endless!

One of the best Tweakers performance setups is the ability to add weight to the bottom and center of your board (The Neutral Zone). This creates a lower center of gravity with a lower moment of inertia, allowing the speed and drive of a 6-pound board to have the quickness and rail to rail ability of a 4-pound board.

For the high performance or competitive surfers out there, you can now overweight your board for training sessions, allowing you to build strength and quickness on the same board you normally ride.  Adjust the weight back to your competition set-up and rip-it.

Imagine the resale value of your boards with this system installed.  The next owner can take his own weights and tweak it to his liking.  We are all different, our height, our weight, our stance and our abilities. This means that the same board could be set-up completely different for whoever rides it.

Currently, we have two models, the Tweakers Shortboard version (TSB) and The Tweakers Step-Up version (TSU).  A single TSB plug has 3 weight options, 1oz, 2oz, and 4oz.  With a  4 plug setup, you have a 0 to 1-pound max weight potential.

The TSU plug has 4 weight options, 2oz, 4oz, 6oz, and 8oz.  With a 4 plug setup, you have a 0 to 2-pound max weight potential.  A two plug set-up has 0 to 1-pound potential.  The TSU version also has 16oz and 32oz weights for tow-in, that’s a 2-pound weight potential per plug.

This system is completely flexible.  You have the option to put as many plugs in your board as you want.  We the surfers and the manufacturers will be designing systems to best suit our boards and our objectives.
